My Story
I am Katie Williams and I am from Acworth, Georgia. Made by Katie started as an embroidery business in my college dorm room and has grown in many ways that I could have not imaged!
Although I have been painting for years, in late 2023 I decided to transition over to painting banners and doing small commissions in Knoxville. I began to fall in love with “collaborative” artwork when customers would order banners and tell me their vision. Then, I got to come up with new ideas and bring my sense of creativity into each design. Bringing it to life makes me feel so fulfilled! I freehand every single piece that I sell because I just love the process of everything. Now, I am over 3 years into MBKT and I am happy to say that I have completed over 300 commissioned pieces throughout college! A milestone I am very proud of!
In other news, I just recently graduated college (Go Vols!!!) with a degree in Forensic Anthropology and Political Science. The center of who I am is my faith. It is what grounds me in times of sorrow and of joy. When I paint I like to spend time with the Lord and bask in His presence. That is why this space is so important to me. It has refined me into who I am today and I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to be an artist. When I am not painting, I LOVE to read, go on walks, talk to friends, go to new coffee shops, thrift, go to the beach, and hang out with my boyfriend!
I love connecting with others and making new friends so whether you’re interested in my work or just want to connect, I am happy you’re here!!!
